Update on John Sawoski's latest appearances

April 2001 -- John Sawoski is still musical director for the musical Funny, You Don't Look Like A Grandmother at the Santa Monica Playhouse. The Los Angeles Times says "Funny, This Musical Revue Looks Like a Winner... laughs for the whole family... the talented ensemble has its comic timing down, getting every laugh, wink and nod." LA Weekly says: "...enjoyably old-fashioned without being creaky, a feel-good show that avoids oversweetness... this revue-style musical is fun, sassy and smart." IN/LA Magazine says "the six-member ensemble, beautifully balanced under John Sawoski's fine musical direction, generates the largest pleasures." BackStage West says "This unpretentious, ingratiating revue is warm, tender, funny, and wise."

John Sawoski Musical Directs "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh" Again

April 2001 - John Sawoski again musical directed Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh at California State University at Northridge on April 22. The show featured some of Allan Sherman's best loved songs: Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh, Crazy Downtown, and Harvey and Sheila. The cast included Karen Needle, Don Lucas, Leslie Klein, Jim Doughan, and Paul Kreppel. Directed by Paul Kreppel, who also starred in the original New York production. This production will also be presented at Pepperdine University Center for the Arts in Autumn of 2001.
