NEWS UPDATE - November 2007 John Sawoski accompanies Frank Sinatra Junior, Seth MacFarlane, and Johnny Crawford, as Fox Broadcasting celebrates the 100th episode of Family Guy John Sawoski joined the Johnny Crawford orchestra (expanded with a large string section), to accompany Seth MacFarlane (creator, producer and the voice of Stewie Griffin on Family Guy) at the show's 100th episode party, held Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, at Social Hollywood. The orchestra played many of the orchestrations originally arranged by Nelson Riddle for Frank Sinatra. At the rehearsal, Frank Sinatra, Jr. conducted and sang several of the songs and told a few stories about his father. Although Frank Sinatra, Jr. has sung on Family Guy, at the party he had Seth sing his numbers with the orchestra, conducted by Walter Murphy, Family Guy's composer. Also singing that evening was orchestra leader Johnny Crawford, who was also one of the original Mouseketeers.
Dennis McNeil entertained five United States presidents. He wowed crowds at the Los Angeles Opera, the Met and the New York City Opera. He is equally at home on the Broadway stage as he is performing with Bruce Hornsby and the Grateful Dead in front of 14,000 fans at the Further Festival. Now, in a rare public performance, he will sing for the South Bay.
A Peninsula native, a student at Miraleste High School, a graduate of Loyola High School, Dennis McNeil will be gracing the Marymount College Auditorium stage on Friday, October 26 as the college continues a celebration of its 75th birthday.
Called the “quintessential classical crossover singer”, Dennis will entertain the audience with an eclectic program of pop standards, Broadway hits and songs straight from the streets of Italy.
An award-winning tenor, McNeil has also been lauded by the entertainment press. London Times praised Dennis’ “… ease and warmth of voice…gorgeously swooning and heat drunk.”
John Sawoski recently worked on the shooting of an episode of the ABC television drama Big Shots, where he appeared on camera as a pianist in a band, which also included saxophonist Rick Keller, drummer Dave Derge, bassist Kirk Smith, and guitarist Rick Fleishman. Contracted by Visual Music.
